The meaning he described involved packing train cars full of prisoners to be sent off to concentration camps. The Nazis would only send full cars, so blocks are only removed when they form a full line.
The example illustrated how meaning informs play. Under this meaning, a normal Tetris player is a heartlessly efficient cog in the Nazi machine. The player could protest by stacking blocks as fast as possible to grind the system to a halt (likely resulting in his execution for treason), or take a Schindler-style approach by “losing optimally” – leaving just one space empty in each line so no prisoners are sent to their deaths for as long as possible, while maintaining the illusion of being loyal to the Nazi cause.
I actually met a guy online who wanted to see what video games were like. He sucked, but of course it’s not HIM that sucked, it was the games. I think this is what’s happening here. Bitch sucks at video games, but instead of admitting it she claims that the games suck. On a side note, seeing as how there are no round bits in tetris, I hardly would call it “pointless”.
