If things get weird you will still have to see her every Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter for nearly forever, unless you avoid all family gatherings for nearly forever, which would arouse suspicion until your family confronted you and you would have to tell your parents you either hate spending time with them or you banged your step sister and now you don’t want to see her anymore.
